POSITION BASED IN MIDDLESEX, NEW JERSEY

Small manufacturing company is looking for a Mechanical Engineer willing to work closely with the engineers, operations and vendors to maintain material deliveries. Time will be spent working with shop employees, engineers, vendors, customers, as well as upper management.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited too:

1. Extensive research to find the most cost-effective products and sources
2. Stay up-to-date on marketing and pricing trends.
3. Coordinate all activities associated to procurement of materials and supplies for the company
4. Attend trade shows
5. Meet with vendors
6. Negotiate contracts and recordkeeping
7. A buyer with good mathematical and analytical skills
8. Must be computer literate and proficient in the use of Word processing and spread sheet programs
9. Have excellent communication skills
10. Must have technical familiarity with materials regularly purchased.
11. Proven work as a project manager or project management experience, a plus

Requires:

1. 4-year Mechanical Engineering degree REQUIRED
2. ERP systems, a plus
